Medieval: Salvation of Heaven

In 1403, Constantinople faces the siege of the Ottoman Empire while Italy stands on the brink of the Renaissance. Joan of Arc is yet to be born, and the Holy Roman Emperor’s three brothers have died without heirs, leaving the throne vulnerable. Seizing the opportunity, the Habsburgs pressure the childless emperor to cede Hungary, Croatia, Bohemia, and the Imperial crown to them. Meanwhile, the Hohenzollerns petition for the Margraviate of Brandenburg, desperate to prevent their rivals from monopolizing the spoils of the succession crisis. Amidst this political turmoil, Henry the Thief sets his sights on the groschen in the Italian court, seeking atonement for the burning of Skalitz. Overwhelmed by the relentless demands of these opportunists, King Sigismund laments that everyone is trying to exploit him and begs for relief. In a bizarre twist, Peter Griffin offers Sigismund a choice among his family members—Chris, Meg, Stewie, Brian, Lois, Quagmire, or Cripple Joe—claiming they are all equally skilled at fleecing the wealthy. Exasperated by the absurdity and greed surrounding him, Sigismund can only curse the lot of them as ruthless predators.
