Three thousand years ago, a mysterious force known as spiritual power suddenly appeared in the world. Even after all this time, humanity has yet to fully understand or resolve its mysteries. Spiritual power can drive the evolution of living creatures. When animals, plants, and insects absorb it, they can develop human-level intelligence, language, and the ability to wield spiritual power. These evolved beings are collectively known as spirit beasts. Spiritual power is divided into ten types: metal, wood, water, fire, earth, light, wind, thunder, darkness, and sound. Humans who absorb it can wield multiple abilities, while each spirit beast is limited to a single type of spiritual power. Years later, humanity developed a contract that could be formed with a spirit beast. If the beast willingly agrees, the human and spirit beast can merge, allowing them to use each other’s abilities and freely exchange consciousness.
