Tang Dynasty Pokémon: The Princess and the Alolan Vulpix

Princess Changle, Li Lizhi, finds herself weighed down by the prospect of her arranged marriage to her cousin Changsun Chong. Seeking respite from her worries, she stumbles upon a mysterious little shop called the Curio Pavilion—and in that moment, her world turns upside down. With a knowing smile, the shopkeeper Ye Xu opens a door she never knew existed. On her very first draw, she pulls an Alolan Vulpix. From that day forward, the dignified princess abandons her royal routine, skipping her duties to become a devoted "trainer," leaving her betrothed completely forgotten. Furious and humiliated, Changsun Chong storms over to denounce the shop, only to walk out clutching a Squirtle and singing a very different tune. Word spreads like wildfire, and the capital's nobles lose all composure—Cheng Yaojin and Yuchi Gong end up brawling in the streets over a Growlithe. The Curio Pavilion becomes the city's hottest destination, and the Tang Dynasty's decorum takes a decidedly unexpected turn. When Emperor Li Shimin hears that some "charlatan" has bewitched his beloved daughter, he arrives in a rage—only to find himself staring awestruck at a Charizard. Suddenly, he's asking if he can pull a Mewtwo. The Empress falls for a Jigglypuff, and little Princess Jizi chases a Pikachu through the halls. As for that arranged marriage? The Emperor promptly scraps it, declaring that Ye Xu is far more suitable. Outside the shop doors, Changsun Chong remains blissfully unaware, rubbing his hands together and praying to the gods for a Rayquaza.
