Tsuki no Umareru Yoru

Akitsu Makoto's life is forever changed when he encounters a mysterious being at a shrine, which he believes to be the god of that shrine. Years later, while visiting a festival with his cousin Shou, Makoto sees the god in the crowd and chases him to a shrine, where the god reveals himself as a kitsune spirit. The spirit explains that its power has waned due to humans' destruction of the environment and the shrines, as well as their loss of faith in him. As Makoto and Shou enter high school, they discover they possess inherited abilities as descendants of the Akitsu clan, allowing them to communicate and battle with demons and ayakashi.
