Crown Prince Regent: Starting with the Confinement of Chongzhen

In the sixteenth year of the Chongzhen reign, a modern soul is transported into the body of Zhu Cilang, the crown prince of the late Ming dynasty. From the very first moment, he is harshly reprimanded by the emperor—but instead of yielding, he talks back without flinching. Has his covert power grab been exposed so quickly? His defiance pushes Chongzhen into a fit of fury, causing the emperor to cough up blood and collapse into a deep coma. The court trembles in upheaval, and panic spreads through the rear palace. Standing coldly before the imperial sickbed, Zhu Cilang proclaims, "His Majesty is gravely ill and cannot manage state affairs. From this day forth, I, as crown prince, shall assume the regency and rule in his stead." Purging the court of dissenters, seizing military command, restoring order to the governance, and staving off the empire's collapse—this Great Ming now answers to no one but him.
