Above Destiny

The world has been rebuilt from ashes, its towers rising once more from the precipice of ruin. Behind the scenes of reality, moving through the shadows of history, roam the Chosen—beings of extraordinary power who command reverence and fear. They are said to bear the Mandate of Heaven, rare souls among countless millions. But Ji Jue has no interest in that mandate. His only ambition is to one day behold the view beyond destiny itself. A chronicler sets down his pen and fixes his gaze upon the grease-stained mechanic. “So this is your rationale for undermining international order, trafficking forbidden weapons, funding subversive organizations, provoking a bipolar war, and plotting to secretly rule the world?” Ji Jue rolls his eyes. “None of that’s my problem. I’m just a broke mechanic.”
