Ushio and Tora

Ushio Aotsuki's family has protected a Shinto temple for generations, where his ancestor once battled a demon using the "Beast Spear", trapping it 500 years ago. While cleaning the temple's storage, Ushio inadvertently frees the demon, named Tora, who had been sealed beneath a rock. Initially, Ushio wisely hesitates to remove the spear, given Tora's admission that his first act upon being freed would be to devour him. However, the unsealed Tora draws other demons to the temple, forcing Ushio to release him in exchange for assistance. The two form an unlikely partnership, with Tora's reservations about eating Ushio eventually giving way to their complementary skills.
