Europa Universalis 1867: Start by inheriting an armory

Transported back to London in 1867, Richard finds himself at the helm of a nearly bankrupt arms factory. Dismissed by his contemporaries as nothing more than a reckless young heir, Richard holds a quiet advantage—his encyclopedic knowledge of European history grants him an almost prophetic foresight. While rivals cling to outdated muzzle-loading rifles, he is already supplying breech-loading ammunition to the military. As others merely watch the unfolding Franco-Prussian War from the sidelines, Richard is secretly arming both sides of the continent, turning conflict into opportunity. His reputation soon draws the attention of history’s titans: Bismarck calls him the most formidable adversary at the negotiating table; Nobel credits his funding as essential to his success; and Napoleon III admits that for rapid-fire guns and cannon, there is only one man to see. Yet Richard is not content to remain in Europe. With a steady hand, he points across the Atlantic to the Americas and declares that the New World is his next frontier.
