Hajimete no Otomodachi wa Zombie deshita

For Eko-chan, a girl long accustomed to the cruelty of her peers, the apocalypse did not bring despair—it brought deliverance. The crumbling cities and desolate landscapes offered an unexpected escape from the relentless bullying that had defined her school life. Yet the true miracle came not in the fall of civilization, but in the form of a single, unlikely companion: her very first friend, who now happens to be a zombie. Together, they navigate the treacherous ruins of a world torn apart, scavenging for supplies and facing the ever-present dangers of the undead. In this grim new reality, Eko-chan finally tastes the warmth of camaraderie, cherishing each moment with the one person—if they can still be called that—who never judges her. However, their survival adventure is overshadowed by a creeping sorrow. With each passing day, her friend's humanity fades further, consciousness slipping away into the mindless hunger of the horde. Eko-chan clings to their fragile bond, racing against time to create memories before the person she loves is lost forever. In a world where death is everywhere, she must confront the most painful truth: that her dearest companion is slowly disappearing right before her eyes.
