Amakusa Natsuki is the brightest hope of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department—a detective celebrated for his uncanny intuition and dogged determination. Yet his confidence is tested when he stumbles upon a high school student named Shiki Yuuya at the scene of a gruesome, unsolvable murder. While the entire investigative team struggles to find any lead, Yuuya, who was merely passing by, casually identifies the culprit with unnerving precision, as if the crime’s logic were laid bare before him. Natsuki is left stunned, his professional pride bruised by the teenager’s effortless brilliance and consumed by a singular, gnawing question: what did Yuuya see that no one else could? The mystery deepens when a second incident erupts within Yuuya’s school, drawing Natsuki back into the student’s orbit. As the detective watches Yuuya navigate the chaos with the same unsettling calm, he becomes convinced that this is no fluke—the boy possesses a gift that defies ordinary explanation, one that borders on the uncanny. But as Natsuki pushes for answers, he realizes that Yuuya’s ability is not just a tool for solving crimes; it is a dangerous enigma that could unravel the very foundations of investigative logic. Their uneasy alliance grows, forcing Natsuki to question whether he is pursuing a partner, a suspect, or something far more elusive.
