Yamamoto Kuromi is a quiet, unassuming first-year student navigating university life through her membership in the film club. She keeps to herself, and her solitude does not go unnoticed by her senior, Shiratori Shiori. Accustomed to a smooth, agreeable existence buoyed by her charm and striking looks, Shiori has never had trouble making connections. Taking pity on Kuromi’s apparent friendlessness, she extends a gracious invitation for coffee—a small gesture she expects will be both effortless and rewarding. What unfolds is anything but. Throughout their outing, Kuromi meets Shiori's kindness with an air of listless detachment and tepid disinterest, slowly chipping away at her senior's patience. The more disengaged Kuromi becomes, the more Shiori's frustration mounts. Yet just as Shiori is about to write the encounter off as a waste of time, she inadvertently catches a fleeting glimpse of another side to her underclassman—a hidden facet that shatters her preconceptions.
