Reiwa no Dara-san

A torrential downpour triggers a catastrophic landslide, demolishing the old fence that has long cordoned off a forbidden tract of land. Seizing the chaos as an opportunity, a pair of siblings venture past the ruined barrier into the uncharted territory, unaware of the ancient presence that slumbers within. There, amid the debris and gloom, they come face-to-face with a being of nightmare—a grotesque, monstrous entity that defies all logic. The creature, startled by their lack of terror, proudly declares itself a curse god, demanding that they recoil in horror at its twisted form. Yet the siblings are anything but ordinary. Rather than screaming or fleeing, they regard the abomination with cool, unshakable composure. With an almost affectionate nonchalance, they bestow upon the bewildered curse god the casual nickname “Dara-san,” treating it less like a fearsome deity and more like an eccentric new acquaintance. Their complete absence of fear, coupled with an inexplicable fondness, begins to chip away at the curse god’s fierce persona. As the trio’s unusual bond deepens, the everyday supernatural comedy unfolds—a heartwarming tale of an unlikely friendship born from the most terrifying of encounters, where the line between human and god blurs in the most peculiar ways.
