Blank Space

On a rainy day, high school student Komae Shouko discovers that her classmate, Katagiri Sui, possesses a special ability. The revelation interrupts the ordinary rhythm of school life, turning a familiar classmate into someone surrounded by mystery. Shouko must come to terms with the fact that someone within her daily routine harbors a power she never imagined. The rain outside mirrors the quiet uncertainty of the moment: nothing around Shouko has visibly changed, yet her understanding of Sui—and perhaps of the world itself—has shifted. As she processes what she has learned, questions gather around Sui’s ability and the reason it remained hidden. What does this power mean for Sui? How will it affect their school days? And what should Shouko do with the knowledge now in her possession? The story centers on this discovery and its immediate aftermath, following Shouko as she faces the divide between ordinary high school life and the secret she now knows. Grounded in a single rainy-day revelation, Blank Space explores the tension between everyday appearances and the hidden truths that can exist beside them, with Sui’s special ability and Shouko’s newfound awareness forming the core of the narrative.
