Galt Luzen reigns as the Demon Lord of his own continent. Since losing his beloved wife, he has withdrawn from society, devoting himself instead to the duties befitting his fearsome title. His quiet existence is upended when Angelica, a valiant paladin and Hero sworn to vanquish him, marches against him—only to be utterly defeated by his overwhelming strength. Yet Galt is no heartless tyrant. Rather than punishing his fallen foes, he carries the unconscious Angelica and her wounded companions back to their families so that they may recover in peace. While escorting Angelica to her home, Galt encounters her mother, Reitia—a woman who bears an uncanny, breathtaking resemblance to his late wife. As the two share tea and conversation, long-suppressed feelings rise to the surface, and on a sudden impulse, Galt proposes. To his own astonishment, she accepts. Now the Hero's sworn nemesis has become her stepfather. Can Angelica truly cope with a living demon residing under her roof? Is it even possible for Galt to care for someone bound by a blood oath to end his life? And in a world where Demon Lords treat the eternal clash between good and evil as casually as a sporting match, what does it really mean to bear that title?
