Majo to Tsukaima-sama

In a quiet corner of the world where time seems to move slower, an ancient witch lives out her long, unending days beneath the weight of chronic depression. She has existed for centuries, far longer than any ordinary life should span, yet the years have brought her not wisdom's peace but a persistent gloom that colors everything she does. Her existence is not one of grand adventures or dramatic spells, but of quiet routines, long silences, and ordinary moments stretched thin across time. Her one constant companion is her familiar: an androgynous owl whose irrepressible, sunny cheerfulness stands in vivid contrast to her melancholy. Where the witch drifts through her days shrouded in low spirits, her feathered familiar flutters about with boundless energy, offering constant chatter, encouragement, and warmth. Told as a gentle slice-of-life story, this tale finds its charm in the everyday interplay between its two leads—the weary witch and her ever-optimistic owl. There are no world-shaking stakes here, only soft humor, quiet melancholy, and the understated comfort of companionship, as one endlessly cheerful familiar does their best to bring a little light into the life of a witch who has long forgotten how to look for it.
