Steins;Gate 0

In this alternate ending to Steins;Gate, the eccentric self-proclaimed mad scientist Okabe is left reeling from a failed attempt to rescue Kurisu. Unable to escape the weight of his defeat, he resolves to give up entirely—abandoning his flamboyant scientist alter ego in a desperate bid to forget the past and live the life of an ordinary young man. His fragile calm is soon disrupted when he crosses paths with an acquaintance of Kurisu, who reveals a startling development: researchers have begun testing a device capable of storing human memories and reconstructing a person as a simulation, complete with their characteristics and personality. Despite his best efforts to move on, Okabe finds himself pulled back in and agrees to take part in the experiments. But the trials prove far more agonizing than he anticipated. The simulation revives Kurisu—dragging his buried anguish back to the surface and setting in motion a series of unexpected tragedies that no one could have foreseen.
