Smile Down the Runway

Chiyuki Fujito has always known exactly who she wants to be: a model walking the runway at the prestigious Paris Collection. Yet no matter how fierce her ambition burns, the world refuses to see past her height. At barely over 150 centimeters, she is told at every turn that her dream is simply unattainable—a harsh reality that her peers, instructors, and even casting agents are all too eager to reinforce. Still, Chiyuki refuses to let their judgments define her future, clinging to her vision with a stubbornness that borders on defiance. Across the classroom sits Ikuto Tsumura, a quiet and gifted student whose passion for fashion design is matched only by his family's financial struggles. With no resources to afford proper materials or formal training, he fights to keep his aspirations alive on a fraying thread of hope. When Chiyuki, in a moment of blunt honesty, tells him that his path is "probably impossible," the weight of her words nearly shatters his resolve, pushing him to the brink of surrendering his lifelong dream. Yet from this collision of doubt and determination, an unexpected bond begins to form. As these two outcasts of the fashion world find themselves drawn together by their shared rejection, they discover in each other the courage to push back against a system that has written them off. *Smile Down the Runway* is an impassioned story of perseverance, following two young creators who refuse to fade into the background—fighting not just for their own futures, but for the very right to pursue a dream against all odds.
