Until Your Bones Rot

That summer, when they were eleven years old, the unthinkable happened: they killed a man and concealed his body in the depths of a cave. What followed was not guilt, but a pact—sealed in blood and silence. Every year since, on one sweltering summer night, they have gathered to perform a grim ritual, an unbroken vow meant to ensure they never forget what they did, and never betray one another. For five years, the secret has held, buried as deep as the bones themselves. Now they are sixteen, standing at the threshold of adulthood, and the past is clawing its way back to the surface. The corpse they left behind has decayed into a skeleton, yet in their minds, it remains as whole and damning as the day it fell. Their carefully woven lies begin to unravel when a faceless blackmailer emerges, threatening to expose everything. A single ringing phone shatters the fragile peace of their lives, dragging them back into the nightmare they thought they had outrun. The bones in that cave do not rot; they do not fade, just like the crime that put them there. As the walls close in and trust frays among the once-united friends, their sixteenth summer becomes a descent into a living hell—where the only thing more terrifying than the truth is the price of keeping it hidden.
