Spirits Flying in the Sky

An anthology of six poignant tales that explore the fragile boundary between the human world and the realm of spirits. In "Ubusuna," a mystical creature finds its calling in the art of pottery. "Sora Tobi Tamashii" follows a girl cursed by an owl after she accidentally kills a chicken spirit, only to be rescued from her monstrous transformation by a girl who is her exact double. "Kuma Koroshi Kami Nusumi Tarou no Namida" chronicles the journey of a boy known as the Bear Killer, who meets a young girl chosen to become the guardian deity of her village. "Suna-kake" depicts a young girl's encounter with a mysterious, sickly girl during a trip to the ocean. "Le Pain et le Chat" tells the story of a baker who takes in a girl abandoned by her parents. Finally, "Imada Fuyu" follows a man who dares to climb a sacred mountain belonging to the gods—a peak never meant for mortal feet.
