Chii-chan wa Chotto Tarinai

Chii-chan is an ordinary middle school student with a habit she can never quite shake: the constant, nagging feeling that something in her life is missing. No sooner does one desire settle than another takes its place, and her eyes are forever drifting toward whatever sits just beyond her grasp. Wanting this and yearning for that, she moves through her days carrying a small but persistent ache of insufficiency that never truly fades. In every other respect, her life could not be more typical. School days unfold in a familiar, comfortable rhythm, and her mild discontent has long since faded into the background—a quiet shadow over an otherwise uneventful routine that she has simply learned to live with. Then a certain incident occurs, arriving without warning and falling entirely outside the ordinary pattern of her small daily wants. In its wake, the texture of Chii-chan's slightly dissatisfied everyday life begins to change, and the familiar world she thought she knew starts to feel a little different.
