Romantist Egoist

Romantist Egoist follows Matou, whose lover, Misaki, suddenly returns after a month’s absence. Matou wants to understand where Misaki has been and what he has been doing during that time, but Misaki shows little interest in offering explanations. Instead, he is far more eager to pick up the more perverse side of their relationship. This leaves Matou torn between his need for answers and his attraction to the man who has reappeared so casually in his life. At the heart of the story is Matou’s dilemma: Misaki’s con-artist behavior makes him difficult to trust, yet Matou cannot easily walk away. He must decide whether to give in to his lover’s manipulative charm in the hope that it will bring him happiness, or resist the pull of a relationship built on uncertainty. Romantist Egoist explores desire, suspicion, and the risky pursuit of emotional fulfillment.
