Dame Inu Kanojo

Having reinvented herself from the ground up, Sakurako Kuramochi strides through her high school halls as the popular girl she always wanted to be, leaving her awkward past firmly behind. But beneath her polished new exterior, a bitter wound still festers—the sting of rejection from a girl she once loved, a humiliation she has never quite been able to bury. Though she has successfully changed everything about her appearance and reputation, the ghost of that painful memory lingers in the quiet moments, shaping her actions and her guarded heart. That fragile peace is shattered one afternoon when a chance encounter on a busy downtown street brings her face-to-face with the very girl who broke her heart. To Sakurako's shock, her former crush does not recognize her at all, instead mistaking her for a complete stranger. Unaware of the painful history they share, the other girl confesses to having fallen in love with Sakurako at first sight and earnestly asks for a second meeting. Stung by this cruel irony and burning with resentment that her former tormentor cannot even recall her existence, Sakurako's hurt curdles into a sharp, calculating anger. Seizing the opportunity, she devises a calculated scheme—a plan for revenge that might just give her the closure she has craved, if it does not consume her first.
