Falling Into the Golden Boy's Trap

Despite his every effort, Niimi has always come in second. Forever measured against his far more accomplished brother, he spent years struggling until he finally landed a position at a prestigious firm. Convinced he had at last secured his dream job, his hopes are quickly dashed when the new hire, Ichijo, arrives and effortlessly steals the spotlight, forcing Niimi to choke down his pride once more. After a work party, Ichijo drinks too much, and Niimi offers to see him home. But upon reaching Ichijo's apartment, the man suddenly confesses to him. Caught in the embrace of Ichijo's honeyed words, Niimi lets down his guard and exposes an embarrassing side of himself over the course of a passionate night. Come morning, however, Ichijo's attitude makes a complete reversal, and he taunts him coldly: "Did it feel good, being devoured by someone you despise?" This is an office romance between an obsessive, ill-mannered man of high status and a hapless guy who could never hope to have the upper hand—a story of an awkward soul led around by the nose by the very person he resents.
