Two Months Left to Live in Another World

Age is no barrier to combat. Eighty-year-old Kaichi Takemura is a seasoned master of aiki-jutsu—a martial art centered on deflecting and redirecting an opponent’s force. Yet even the most resilient fighter cannot outrun the decay of the body. Stricken with terminal cancer and given only two months remaining, Kaichi finds himself confined to a hospital room, gazing out the window as he awaits a life’s end that feels hollow and incomplete. Then, in an instant, a cough, a blink, and the world shifts. He and his attending nurse are pulled across dimensions and deposited into a strange new realm teeming with ferocious beasts, quantifiable experience points, and an arcane system of skills. Though bewildered at first, Kaichi soon notices his aging frame regaining its lost vitality—a development that feels remarkably like the remedy he never expected to receive. So begins his tumultuous, monster-flinging, perilous second chance in a world far from home.
