Once a nameless slave, Mu-Yeong poured every ounce of his suffering, dreams, and identity into his brushstrokes. His paintings were not mere images but living testaments to his soul—the only proof that a man of his station could possess a world of his own. Through years of silent toil, he honed a style so unique that it spoke louder than any pedigree, offering him a fragile hope of transcending the brutal chains of his past. That hope is shattered when Hwang Hwi, a privileged young master of the orthodox school, covets and seizes Mu-Yeong's life’s work for himself. In a cruel twist of power, the theft is inverted: Mu-Yeong is publicly branded a liar and a thief, accused of stealing the very masterpieces that were born from his own blood and tears. Stripped of his artistic legacy and his hard-won identity, he finds himself cast out from a society that values status over truth, with his reputation trampled beyond recognition. Yet, from the ashes of this betrayal, Mu-Yeong forges an unbreakable resolve. He will not simply reclaim his paintings—he will dismantle the corrupt foundations of the orthodox powers that enabled such injustice. His vengeance is not born of mere anger, but of a righteous fury to expose their hypocrisy and reclaim the one thing slavery could never take from him: his right to exist on his own terms. With every stroke of his brush, he vows to paint a new destiny, one stained with the reckoning of those who wronged him.
