Tokyo: The Manga Begins with the Funeral of Frilian

Tokyo, 1990. Yuma Kamiya finds himself reborn in the heart of Japan's bustling capital with almost nothing to his name—just 2,500 yen tucked into his pocket. Standing at such a desperate crossroads, most would succumb to despair at so meager a beginning. Yuma, however, sees opportunity where others see ruin. His first decision is a bold one: he moves into the home of a female college classmate. From this unlikely living arrangement, an extraordinary career takes shape. Manga masterpieces such as *The Burial of Frillien*, *Slam Dunk*, and *Hunter x Hunter* pour forth from his pen one after another, each new work captivating readers and sending shockwaves through the publishing industry. Before long, Yuma rises to become a defining figure of the new generation of manga artists, his name spoken alongside the medium's brightest stars. Yet while his professional triumphs unfold beneath the public spotlight, his private life remains a closely guarded mystery. As for what truly goes on behind his closed doors—perhaps the media shouldn't concern themselves with that.
