In a world where creatures of ancient legend still walk among humans, the descendants of the Nine Heavens have found a new home on Earth. Among them is Sibuxiang, a mythical deer-man with a remarkable talent for doing absolutely nothing. Cast out of heaven for his lazy ways, he is given an unexpected new duty: to watch over and assist the mythological beings now scattered across the mortal world. His assignment brings him into the company of a colorful cast of fellow exiles and wanderers — Pipi, a high-spirited Pixiu with an endless appetite; Tuye, a zealous moon rabbit; and Jinjiao and Yinjiao, a pair of mouse brothers likewise banished from the heavens. Together with many other legendary beings, this unlikely group stumbles from one comical misadventure to the next. Caught between his longing for a peaceful, idle life and the responsibilities of caring for his fellow creatures, Sibuxiang quickly discovers that the mortal world is anything but restful — and every day promises a brand-new adventure.
