ReLIFE

When the harsh realities of adulthood and the cruelty of corporate harassment shatter the dreams of youth, many find themselves wishing for a second chance to go back and make better choices. For 27-year-old Arata Kaizaki, that fantasy suddenly becomes a tangible possibility when he is presented with an offer that leaves him utterly bewildered—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reset his life. Returning home from his part-time job one evening, Arata is approached by Ryou Yoake, a representative of the ReLife Research Institute, who persuades him to enroll in an experimental program designed to help participants overcome their personal barriers and reintegrate into the professional world. As part of the experiment, Arata's appearance is restored to that of a seventeen-year-old, and his sole task is to spend one year reliving high school. Upon successful completion, a coveted full-time job offer—the very prize that has eluded him since leaving his first company—awaits him at the finish line. With few alternatives left, he reluctantly agrees to the plan. Yet, saddled with adult habits and having been out of formal education for years, Arata quickly discovers that navigating the mundane routines of a modern high school is far more daunting than he ever anticipated. What lies ahead is an unexpectedly grueling test of his resolve, disguised as an ordinary school year.
