Final Fantasy Type-0

The world of Oriens is divided into four rival nations: the Suzaku Fiefdom of Rubrum, the Milites Empire, the Lorican Alliance, and the Kingdom of Concordia. Each realm is distinguished by its own heraldic emblem—drawn from the Four Symbols—and is sustained by a sacred crystal that bestows a distinct form of power. Rubrum's Suzaku Crystal grants command over magic, Milites's Byakko Crystal enables the creation of advanced weaponry, Lorica's Genbu Crystal provides the power of protective shields, and Concordia's Sōryū Crystal endows dominion over dragons. These crystals possess the will to brand certain humans as servants of their respective nations. Those chosen, known as l'Cie, bear a mystical mark and are charged with a singular mission called a Focus. Though the brand extends their lifespan, it carries a cruel price: the gradual erosion of their memories over time. A tenuous peace treaty nominally governs the relations among the four powers, but the arrangement is shattered when Cid Aulstyne deploys his own l'Cie soldiers in a campaign of conquest against his neighbors. After seizing Lorica and claiming its crystal, the Milites war machine turns its full force upon Concordia and Rubrum. In a sudden and unexplained catastrophe, Rubrum's Suzaku Crystal—the very source of its magical defenses—shatters, leaving the nation defenseless and forcing it into submission before the superior imperial army. Yet even with their crystal lost, the students of Rubrum's Class Zero refuse to accept defeat, taking up arms to resist the invaders.
