Highway 1

Ten years ago, a brief but intense college romance flickered between Jang Taesan and Lee Sooyeon before fading into the quiet drift of adulthood. They parted as strangers might, carrying only fleeting memories of what could have been, and allowed the decade to stretch between them without a single word. Life pulled them in opposite directions, and the past seemed destined to remain buried beneath the weight of time. Now, a crisis in Sooyeon's rural hometown has summoned Taesan back into her orbit. Assigned to repair a reservoir that has burst its banks and flooded the low-lying fields, he arrives as an outsider with a toolbox and a determined resolve. Yet the moment their eyes meet across the waterlogged landscape, the years of separation collapse in an instant. The familiar pull of old attraction stirs once more, undeniable and just as electric as it was in their youth. But familiarity is not the same as understanding, and the passage of a decade has shaped them into people the other no longer truly knows. With the damaged reservoir serving as a constant reminder of nature's unpredictability, Taesan and Sooyeon must navigate more than just floodwaters. They are confronted with the ghosts of unresolved feelings and the daunting question of whether this unexpected reunion is merely an echo of the past or the foundation for a future they never dared to imagine. The spark is there—bright and fragile—but only time will tell if it can withstand the pressure of reality and ignite into something lasting.
