Boku to Umi Kanojo

Mikane cannot quite convince himself that he belongs on the small Kyushu island he returned to one year ago. The locals treat him warmly, his father is brusque yet kind, and he has a good friend who worries about him. Despite the island's comforts and the affection of those around him, an unshakable loneliness lingers. He is not ungrateful for the warmth he has found, but even with so much waiting for him, he remains dissatisfied and unable to feel truly at home. Then, one day, he saves a mysterious and beautiful woman from the sea. His meeting with this older woman will drastically change his destiny, setting him on a path he never could have expected. From that moment onward, the course of his life begins to shift in ways beyond anything he imagined.
