Himegoe

Ever since he can remember, Himeno has been weighed down by a single insecurity: his voice. Strikingly high-pitched, it has long been a source of quiet embarrassment—a part of himself he hides away rather than something he can accept. Everything changes the moment he first hears the voice of the broadcasting club president. Captivated by that voice, Himeno finds himself drawn into the club almost before he realizes it, stepping into a world built entirely around sound and speech. Yet the irony is impossible to escape: in a place where voices are shared so freely, he cannot bring himself to let anyone hear the one voice he has guarded all his life—his true one. Himegoe is a heartfelt coming-of-age story about a boy torn between admiration and self-doubt, quietly wrestling with whether he can ever allow his real self to be heard. Tender and true to life, it offers an honest portrait of teenagers navigating the fragile distance between who they are and who they are afraid to reveal.
