Deep in a remote forest lives Luca, a wizard who dwells far removed from human company. One day, he calls forth a monster from the darkness and names the creature "Yug"—never offering a single word of explanation as to why. Yug soon takes up residence with the wizard, but his new life comes bound to a peculiar condition: to preserve his human form, he must share moments of physical intimacy with Luca. What begins as a strange arrangement between summoner and summoned gradually draws the two into an unexpected closeness. Yet something about their time together feels subtly wrong. Whenever they draw near, Yug is gripped by the unsettling sense that Luca is not truly looking at him—as though the wizard were gazing at someone else entirely through him.
