The White Cat's Revenge as Plotted from the Dragon King's Lap

Ruri has spent her entire life overshadowed by Asahi, her clingy and hopelessly oblivious childhood friend. Adored by nearly everyone she meets, Asahi effortlessly attracts a devoted following—but her admirers' fawning devotion comes at Ruri's expense. Blissfully unaware of the harm she causes, Asahi never notices that her legion of fans has made Ruri the target of their spite, resentment, and bitter jealousy. For most people, being swept along in Asahi's wake would be a mere inconvenience, but for Ruri it proves life-changing. When Asahi is suddenly summoned to another world to serve as its revered "Priestess Princess," Ruri is dragged through the portal right alongside her. Worse still, far from receiving a hero's welcome, she finds herself condemned as a traitor and banished deep into the wilderness. Yet this cruel exile may turn out to be the greatest fortune Ruri has ever known. Freed at last from Asahi's suffocating shadow—and the hostility it bred—she begins to realize that this strange new world offers something she never had before: the opportunity to forge her own path and claim a fresh start that belongs entirely to her.
