Profundis

Thirteen years ago, Baek Yugeon and his brother were the only survivors of a mysterious anomaly attack—an encounter that left them both awakened. While his brother emerged with extraordinary supernatural abilities, Yugeon developed a far rarer role: he became a guide, someone able to keep such powers under control through physical contact. When that same anomaly resurfaces years later, his brother is left in critical condition. The only person who can save him is Woo Shinje, an S-class awakened and the commander of the hunting order Erewhon. Shinje agrees to help—but at a price. In exchange, Yugeon must serve as guide to Shinje's entire team, a group that includes the reserved Joo Taein, the feral Yoon Chan, and the sadistic Kwon Heesu. Keeping their volatile powers in check will push Yugeon to his limits at every turn. Yet the man who appears to be the kindest among them may prove to be the most dangerous of all. Shinje sets one final condition: Yugeon must follow him down into the pit, where the very anomaly behind every tragedy he has endured still awaits.
