Reborn in 2002: Forging a Mighty Military Through Solo R&D of Individual Gear

In the autumn harvest of 2002, at the dawn of the new millennium, Lin Feng—a special forces veteran and military industrial engineer driven by an unwavering commitment to strengthen his nation’s armed forces—is reborn as his seventeen-year-old self. In his previous life, he wasted his youth working in southern factories before finally enlisting to research individual protective gear. However, overwork led to his premature death, leaving him with the lifelong regret of being unable to rectify the outdated equipment that had caused the deaths of his comrades. Seizing this second chance, Lin Feng abandons the path of migrant labor and fiercely competes for a special recruitment quota for high school students, determined to root himself in the military and develop individual combat equipment from the ground up. He faces relentless obstacles, including having his quota stolen, malicious rumors during his political background check, and constant harassment in the new recruit camp. Yet, he crushes every barrier placed in his way. While serving on the anti-narcotics front line in southern Yunnan, Lin Feng watches helplessly as his comrades suffer injuries due to rudimentary protective gear. Resolved to change this reality, he leverages his twenty years of advanced military industrial knowledge to revolutionize personal equipment. He improves bulletproof protection and creates modular tactical gear, successfully partnering with state-owned arsenals for mass production. From dominating military exercises and cross-border counter-terrorism operations to stunning the world in multinational drills, Lin Feng spends two decades guarding the borders and forging armor. Ultimately, he crafts the sharpest blade of China’s mighty military through his own hands.
