Namae no Nai Byouki

In the dead of night, the protagonist awakens to a strange sound echoing through the darkness—and finds a horrifying pair of "legs" waiting there. Thereafter, the unseen visitor seems content simply to announce its existence, lingering invisibly within the room. Like a net slowly drawing shut, it tightens its hold on the protagonist's life bit by bit, until the day it finally reveals itself: a monster of breathtaking, otherworldly beauty, nameless and inexplicable. Unable to flee or fight back, the protagonist can only watch as the creature lowers its hand toward them. So begins a strange life together, one that must be kept hidden at all costs. The secret is guarded from a doubting lover and friends who would never believe it, even as something begins quietly dying inside the protagonist: the senses that once made them human are slipping away, and their ordinary existence is collapsing piece by piece. At the very moment they learn what awaits them, a momentous decision is placed in their hands. Meanwhile, a spate of bizarre, unexplained murders has unsettled the public since the night the monster first appeared. As fear spreads, a disturbing question takes root in the protagonist's mind: could these killings and the beautiful yet eerie being now sharing their home be connected after all?
