Gaikotsu to Koi wa Dekiru no ka?

Honored as a semi-grand prize winner, this one-shot delivers one of romance fiction's most unexpected premises: an ordinary man whose path crosses with a heroine who is, quite literally, a skeleton. From that single, astonishing encounter springs a story that is by turns strange, comedic, and unexpectedly thought-provoking. Beneath its absurdist surface lies a deceptively simple question: is love truly a matter of appearances? When the person before you has no face to fall for and no beauty to admire, what is it that draws the heart? With playful curiosity and surprising sincerity, the narrative turns this paradox over, probing whether attraction can exist beyond flesh, features, and every conventional standard of loveliness humankind holds dear. The result is a romantic comedy of a genuinely new breed—bold, inventive, and disarmingly heartfelt—one that dares to pose its central question not merely to its unlikely pair, but to all of mankind.
