In a world where a 60 billion double dollar bounty has been placed on his head, Vash the Stampede is a notorious outlaw on the run, constantly being pursued and targeted by those seeking to collect the reward. However, Vash's reputation as a deadly gunman is somewhat at odds with his peaceful nature, as he is a pacifist who detests violence and bloodshed. He is also a bit of a loner, with a fondness for donuts and an awkward, gangly demeanor that belies his legendary status. Two insurance agents, Meryl and Milly, are tasked with tracking down Vash and preventing further destruction caused by his pursuers, but as they get to know him, they begin to question whether he is truly the notorious outlaw he is being hunted for.
