Ren Jiang

In a world where the line between medicine and mutilation blurs, the enigmatic Ren Jiang wield an extraordinary and fearsome power. They possess the innate ability to reach beneath the skin—extracting bones, reshaping soft tissue, and completely remodeling the human form according to their will. This grotesque yet profound mastery over flesh renders them figures of both veneration and terror, for they can just as easily mend a terminal illness as they can orchestrate unimaginable physical ruin. Among their number is Cheng Shan, a young bearer of this unsettling gift. At the tender age of sixteen, burdened by the weight of his potential and driven by an unquenchable curiosity, he makes the fateful decision to abandon the safety of his rural home and venture into the sprawling, indifferent metropolis. The city, a concrete labyrinth teeming with desperation and ambition, becomes the crucible for his coming-of-age. There, Cheng Shan must navigate a society that both covets and despises his talents. Torn between the altruistic call to heal the afflicted and the seductive, dangerous pull of wielding his abilities to sow discord and seize power, his journey forces him to confront a fundamental question: in the hands of a solitary youth, is such godlike manipulation of life a blessing—or a curse waiting to be unleashed?
