Redeeming the Jade Emperor: A Storytelling That Shakes the Three Realms

All beings across the primeval ages—the Three Realms, the myriad spirits, the Three Purities and Six Sages, immortals, Buddhas, demons, and monsters—listen up! Starting today, a brand-new storytelling series, "Checking In to Redeem the Jade Emperor," begins its run. It will tear apart ten thousand years of prejudice and lay bare the Jade Emperor's masterstroke scheme from his days as a tearful novice in the Purple Tropic Palace to his rise as the sovereign lord of all creation. Is this the Jade Emperor you know? The cowardly celestial ruler who, in *Journey to the West*, ducked under his table at Sun Wukong's rampage and cried out, "Quickly summon the Tathagata Buddha"? The puppet boy in *Investiture of the Gods* who could only run to the Purple Tropic Palace weeping, daring to manage the Three Teachings only with the Dao Ancestor's backing? The inept master of the Three Realms who couldn't even keep his own rebellious nephew Yang Jian or Nezha in line? But the truth? One single sob secured his claim as the true master of the Three Realms. He turned a crisis into opportunity to forge the first great warrior of Heaven. He cleverly employed the "Great Sage Equal to Heaven" to balance the ledgers, tamed the Dragon Clan, reclaimed the Netherworld, and pacified the celestial hosts. (At first, the Jade Emperor: "Really? I did all that?") (After hearing the stories, the Jade Emperor: "Yes—that was exactly my plan all along.")
