Shuichirou has a private ritual: during lunch, between skipped classes, or whenever he dreads heading home, he slips away to the terrace of his school building. It is a quiet refuge, removed from the clamor of hallways and the weight of expectations—until Konno begins appearing there too. Konno is a figure shaped entirely by rumor; some students whisper that he is dark and forbidding, while others insist he is a passionate photography enthusiast with an unexpectedly gentle side. Between these two young men, an uneasy chemistry simmers—part jealousy, part envy, and a strange, unspoken mutual regard that neither fully understands. Shuichirou hides his true feelings behind a bright, practiced cheerfulness, deflecting every probing glance with a smile that never quite reaches his eyes. Konno, by contrast, wears his simplicity and pure-heartedness openly, his straightforward demeanor cutting through Shuichirou’s carefully constructed defenses.
