Koimonogatari

After overhearing his classmate Yamato confess to a friend that he is gay, Yuiji makes a conscious effort not to let prejudice cloud his judgment, yet he cannot help but overanalyze the situation. He becomes particularly aware of the way Yamato gazes at one specific boy—Yuiji's own closest friend. Though he tries to stay out of it, Yuiji finds himself unexpectedly drawn into the quiet tragedy of Yamato's one-sided affection. Initially, his involvement is driven by empathy, fully aware that Yamato's love interest is straight. However, as his friendship with Yamato grows deeper, Yuiji comes to realize just how much he has come to cherish this new companion. All he truly wants is for Yamato to find happiness—and to feel free enough to live as his authentic self.
