365 Days with the Yokai

For generations, Miharu's family has dedicated itself to purifying ayakashi, the malevolent spirits that dwell at the edge of the human world. Miharu, however, was born without any of the sense or power this sacred duty requires—he cannot so much as cope with the supernatural, let alone fight it. When his grandfather, the only family he has ever truly known, passes away, the young boy is left utterly alone: shunned by relatives who want nothing to do with him, and tormented by cruel ayakashi that delight in preying upon the helpless heir of their old foes. Then Kochi appears—a rude, rough-mannered demon who despises humans, bearing a cursed arrow lodged in his back. He has come straight for Miharu, convinced the boy is the key to lifting his curse. But just as Kochi believes his problem is solved, Miharu reveals a burden of his own: he, too, is cursed. Thus begins an uneasy year of living under the same roof, as a powerless boy and a bitter demon find themselves bound together by a shared curse neither of them expected.
