Tricked into Becoming the Heroine's Stepmother

She never imagined she would open her eyes inside the pages of a "tragic novel"—least of all one she had casually written with her friends just for fun. Worse, she has awakened not as the heroine but as a nameless background extra, Civilian 1, with no influence over the story unfolding around her. According to the plot she once penned as a pastime, Duke Henstone, father of the female lead, will ignite a revolution in a desperate attempt to spare his daughter an unhappy fate—and if events are left to run their course, many lives will be endangered. Determined to avert that tragedy, she makes a resolute vow: "I will protect the female lead!" With that, she takes in the young heroine, the duke's daughter, and the two begin living together under one roof. Yet the little girl proves to be far stranger than her adorable appearance suggests. Rather than seeking comfort in her self-appointed guardian, the child seems fixated on an entirely different goal—relentlessly scheming to push her father and her new caretaker closer together. Why does the tiny heroine keep trying so hard to set her up with her dad?
