China Entertainment 1998: National Team Director!

Waking up from a drunken haze, Su Nan finds himself reborn in 1998, back in a Beijing Film Academy classroom during a pivotal debate that could redefine his entire future. His opponent, Lu Chuan, speaks eloquently about the need to study Western art and explore human nature, while Wuershan champions Hollywood, extolling its commercial cinema and profit-first approach. This time around, Su Nan refuses to remain silent—he delivers a forceful retort, challenging them both. Determined to leave behind the endless capital games of his past life, he chooses an entirely different direction: joining the national team. Rejecting Su-style montage, Hollywood three-act structures, and the label of a Western art director, he resolves to carve his own path—the path of Eastern aesthetics. His journey begins with his induction into the provincial team, where he takes on the direction of two major productions: "Emperor Wuzong of Ming" and "Lurking."
