Wǎn Cháo

Thrust from an era long past into the dizzying pace of the modern world, Xiang Wan finds herself a stranger in a time not her own. Adrift in a society of neon lights and digital noise, she grasps at the lifeline offered by her trusted friend, Yu Zhou, who guides her toward an unexpected vocation: voice acting. Within the intimate confines of the recording booth, Xiang Wan discovers not only a voice to anchor her new identity but also a sanctuary from the relentless currents of the present. It is here that she crosses paths with Chao Xin, a senior artist whose outward gentleness belies an unyielding core of resilience. What commences as a fortuitous invitation—a simple gesture of professional courtesy—soon deepens into something far more profound. As they navigate the demanding artistry of dubbing and the quiet moments between takes, the emotional resonance between them builds into an undeniable cadence. Bound by a shared passion that transcends the script, the two women find their carefully guarded worlds beginning to orbit one another. Set against the backdrop of a familiar creative universe, their journey is a tender exploration of belonging, vulnerability, and the transformative power of a connection that refuses to be silenced.
