As the Gods Will

Shun Takahata, a high school student, finds his everyday life suffocating and secretly longs for something exciting. That wish becomes a nightmare when his teacher’s head suddenly explodes. As classmates begin dying in the same inexplicable way, Shun realizes he has been pulled into a series of deadly supernatural games based on children’s diversions—except the penalties are horrifyingly real. Together with other survivors, Shun is left with no answers. None of them know who is responsible, why the games are happening, or when the ordeal will end. To uncover the mystery behind these gruesome contests, they must first survive each round. But the danger does not come only from the games themselves; the survivors may also have to outlast one another if they hope to escape.
