The Question of Righteousness

Demon hunter Shan Hai rescues an orphaned girl, Su Wen, from the jaws of a monstrous beast, and the two set out on the road together. Unbeknownst to many, Su Wen carries within her the primal demonic power of the Demon King—a heritage that makes her the relentless target of every major faction, who either covet her strength or seek to eradicate her. As their journey unfolds, Shan Hai is forced to witness the once-clear line between human and demon, good and evil, grow ever more blurred. What passes for "slaying demons and upholding the Way" is revealed to be riddled with personal agendas and half-truths, while the deep-rooted malice of humanity breeds tragedy after tragedy. When the old certainties crumble and the codes you once lived by can no longer be trusted, how do you define justice? And what truly counts as evil? Walking the earth and observing the myriad faces of the world, Shan Hai and Su Wen press forward—searching for the answer to the righteous path that lies within their own hearts.
