The System Misfires, Calling Steamed Buns Immortal Pills

A 21st-century college student transmigrates into the body of the lazy, gluttonous third son of a farming family in the 1970s. Waking up at dawn and working until dusk is called "lazy," and having meat less than once a month is called "gluttony"—this life is unbearable. His so-called cultivation system, however, insists that steamed buns are immortal pills. When a matchmaker brings a widow who isn't interested in him, the system assigns him a quest straight out of a cliché novel: "Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west"—as if he's the protagonist of a power fantasy. It calls wild rabbits "demon beasts," but for the sake of check-in rewards and missions, he grudgingly agrees to hunt them. Then the system demands he find a cultivation partner, yet assigns him the class "Lazy Glutton"—an absurd profession for a female cultivator. This is the story of an increasingly unreliable college student, a similarly lazy and gluttonous educated youth girl, and their equally unreliable cultivation system, as they muddle through life together.
